BloomWe were delighted with the support we received in 2012 and as a result have decided to run the event again in 2013. The format is very simple and there are just two categories: - Communities and Junior
with judging based on one criteria only:- Overall Impression

Judging will be based on the Chelsea Flower Show Style with Bronze, Silver or Gold Certificates awarded.
Entrants will NOT be in competition with each other - thus eliminating any advantage that larger communities or ones with Council or commercial planting could possibly have.

You can show off your whole community or pick out one feature to be judged - such as a Village Hall, a square, hanging baskets etc. Judging will be at the end of August which is a time better suited to our locality and, also, the schools will be back and will therefore be able to update their entries.

The Forum hopes that all Speyside communities will participate again this year and we would welcome more entries from local schools and Junior groups as well. Last year we also received some splendid entries from individual gardens but, on refection, we have decided to exclude this category this year. This is partly because we need to keep judging time (by an unpaid, though experienced, volunteer) to a reasonable time frame and also so as to ensure we do not cut across individual community and flower Show "Best Kept Gardens" competitions.

There is no expense involved in participating in Undiscovered Speyside in Bloom. We just ask that you email us to confirm your wish to take part and provide us with contact details for your Community Entry and/or Junior Entry. The Forum will then advise you of the time when your entries will be inspected.

Judging will take place on Friday 23rd August 2013
